Took a tour today because it’s perhaps the most decadent of all the Modernist sight in the city. It was intricate, coherent and overwhelming at the same time and I wanted eight more pairs of eyes. I started to take pictures and “Perdona…!” Pictures aren’t allowed. Are you kidding me?! Why?! I was so annoyed and I just wanted it all on my camera that I lagged behind a little so the tour guide couldn’t catch my taking another picture. But then all of a sudden another employee appeared behind me, reprimanded me and then proceeded to shadow me for the rest of the tour. Goodness! Is it really that big of a deal?
Also, when the first time the guide told me I couldn’t take pictures she said, “See” and pointed to a sign that had a cigarette crossed out, food crossed out and a camcorder crossed out. And I was like, OK, that’s a camcorder. NOT a camera. I can understand prohibiting the recording of concerts there, but pictures?
