“ I can legally buy alcohol in a country I’m not currently in! ”
James, on his 21st birthday. Last night we went out first to a friend in the program’s adorable place in Raval for drinks/snacks/cake then to a bar of James’s choice where I proceeded to tell everyone it was his 21st birthday, which is a huge deal because we’re from the U.S. And you know what? No one really seemed to care, not even when I got us all singing Happy Birthday in Spanish and clapped my hands loudly. Maybe it’s because they think our drinking age is absurd.
